NVRAM Module (6264/62256)

£14.00
Chip type

Keep your settings and high scores, without batteries.

A non-volatile RAM (NVRAM) replacement for the standard SRAM chip on your pinball machine's CPU board. Settings, audits and high scores are kept when the machine is switched off, so the backup batteries – and the risk of battery leakage damage – are no longer needed.

Two sizes available
• 6264 (8K × 8)
• 62256 (32K × 8)

Choose the size that matches the SRAM chip fitted to your board.

Features
• Non-volatile memory (FRAM technology) – no battery needed, ever
• Same 28-pin footprint as the original SRAM
• Fully tested

Fitting
The original SRAM is usually soldered to the board. The NVRAM module can be soldered directly in its place, or you can fit a 28-pin socket first (socket not supplied).

Remove the batteries before working on the board – they're no longer required once the NVRAM module is fitted. Removing the batteries and the original SRAM restores the machine's factory settings.

Fitting a different size? If you're replacing the original SRAM with a different-sized NVRAM module, some resistors and zero-ohm links on the board may need to be changed to suit the new configuration. If you're not sure, please email support@mccircuitworks.com before ordering.

Machines that use the real-time clock. Some machines use the real-time clock in certain modes of play. For example, Twilight Zone uses the clock settings to set the time on the playfield clock. These features won't work correctly with an NVRAM module fitted. If you're not sure, please email support@mccircuitworks.com before ordering.
