Refund policy

Your right to cancel (14-day cooling-off period)

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, if you are a consumer buying from us online, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods, without giving a reason.

To cancel, simply email us at support@mccircuitworks.com with your order number, stating that you wish to cancel. You don't need to use a specific form — a clear email is enough.

Once you've told us you're cancelling, you then have a further 14 days to return the goods to us.

Condition of returned goods: We understand you may want to check the board over, but handle it as you would in a shop — avoid excessive handling, and where possible, return it in its original packaging with all accessories included. If a board is returned used, installed, or in a condition beyond what's reasonable to establish its nature and function, we may deduct an amount from your refund reflecting the reduction in value. Circuit boards are static-sensitive. Return them in anti-static packaging where possible, to avoid damage in transit.

Return postage: For a straightforward change-of-mind cancellation, the cost of returning the goods to us is your responsibility. We recommend using a tracked and insured postal service, since we can't issue a refund for an item that's lost or damaged in transit back to us.

Refund timing: We will refund you within 14 days of receiving the goods back (or of you providing evidence you've sent them, if earlier), using your original payment method.

Exception — bespoke and custom-specification boards

If you commission a board built to your own specific requirements (for example, a custom design or modification not offered as a standard catalogue item), this right to cancel does not apply once we have begun work, in line with Regulation 28(1)(b) of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. We'll always make clear at the time of order if this applies to your purchase.

Faulty or misdescribed goods

Separately from the cancellation right above, your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply to every order:

•        Within 30 days of receiving a faulty or misdescribed item, you're entitled to a full refund.

•        Within 6 months, if a fault develops, it's assumed to have been present at delivery (unless we can show otherwise). You're entitled to a repair or replacement; if that's not possible or doesn't fix the problem, you're entitled to a refund.

•        After 6 months, the same rights continue to apply for up to 6 years in England and Wales, though the burden shifts to you to show the fault was present at the time of delivery.

This applies regardless of the voluntary warranty, and nothing in this policy limits your statutory rights.

Contact us before sending anything back. Email support@mccircuitworks.com with your order number and a description of the issue (photos help, especially for suspected faults). If a return is needed, we'll confirm this with you and provide a return address at that point.

Items sent back to us without prior contact may experience delays while we confirm details with you.
