MC Circuit Works is a small, UK-based business run by me, Simon — an electronics engineer with more than 45 years' experience.
The original boards in 1990s Bally/Williams pinball machines are now decades old, often already repaired more than once, and increasingly hard to find in good condition. I started MC Circuit Works to give owners a reliable alternative.
What I do
- Brand-new replica boards — faithful copies of the original boards, built to match them in layout and component identifiers, so the original service manuals still apply. Where an original part is no longer available, I use a modern equivalent of equal or better specification.
- Upgrades and mods — including the Aurora range of products.
- Board repair — send your board in for repair and testing.
- Remote troubleshooting help — with decades of electronics and pinball experience, I can often diagnose machine problems remotely by phone or email. Get in touch for a free, no-obligation chat.
Where the boards are made
All replica boards are fully assembled and tested here in the UK. Boards that use surface-mount parts — such as the Aurora range and the LM323 regulator replacement — have their surface-mount components fitted by a specialist assembler overseas; final assembly and testing are done here in the UK. Every board comes with a 12-month warranty.
About Afterglow
The Afterglow board was designed by bitfieldlabs and is published as open-source hardware under the CERN Open Hardware Licence v2 – Permissive, with its firmware under the Apache License 2.0. The original design files and licences are at github.com/bitfieldlabs/afterglow. I didn't design it — I build, test and sell it, and it's covered by the same warranty as my other boards.
Please note
MC Circuit Works is an independent business. My replica boards are new reproductions of original designs; they are not original parts and are not made, endorsed or approved by Williams, Bally or any other original manufacturer. Original part numbers (such as A-12697) and game names are used only to show which machines each board fits.
